Once you port your U.S. mobile number to a service like Tossable Digits, you no longer need to pay your original U.S. cellphone company for that number. Instead, you'll pay Tossable Digits for their service, which maintains your U.S. number and handles call forwarding and other features.

However, before porting your number, it's essential to check with your current U.S. cellphone company about any fees or charges associated with the porting process, as well as any contractual obligations you might have. Once the porting process is complete and your number is fully transferred to Tossable Digits, you can cancel your original U.S. cellphone plan, and you won't need to pay your original provider for that number anymore.
